The New York State Maple Producers Association invites families from across the Empire State and neighboring areas to learn all about the production of maple syrup and other related products. Our goal during Maple Weekend is to share the taste of real mouth-watering maple syrup with you. Maple producers will demonstrate how to make syrup -- whether it's simply boiling the sap over an open fire or running it through highly scientific equipment -- the results always taste great! Come taste our sugar on snow, take a free tour and try some free samples of goodies using maple. We will be operating our evaporators, making maple cotton candy, maple popcorn, maple cream, maple sugar in many shapes and sizes. Pancake breakfast available from 9am till noon, $5/person and kids under 5 free.
From the first Maple Sunday in Wyoming County in the mid 1990s to today's state-wide Maple Weekend event, the goal remains the same -- to give the public a first-hand opportunity to see how maple products are produced, from tree to table, along with the chance to taste and purchase maple products. Also participating is Schoolyard Sugarbush - schoolyardsugarbush.org.
